As reported a few months ago, a new micro pub was given the go ahead in a former takeaway on Heaton road.

The owners- who own the Pele Tower in Corbridge- had hoped to be open in September but there have so far been no further updates. 

So, like an investigative reporter of old, I walked to the location of the proposed pub and there is no evidence at all that any work has started.

I nipped around the back of the building and although there was a skip, it looked to be full of household items. 

As a result of my skip diving, I have been reported by the ‘Heaton Curtain Twitchers’ Facebook page, described as ‘ Frank from Guess Who in a washed out band T shirt and probably shouts at pigeons’. Brilliant.
