Developers and the council’s continued assault on what makes the Ouseburn special continues unabated. 

Developers want to build apartments next door to the wonderful Free Trade Inn so that people who love the vibe of the Ouseburn can live there and then can complain about the vibe being too loud.

This isn’t the first time the legendary pub has been threatened with- quite frankly- fucking stupid plans. 

A few years ago the council wanted to build a 15 story tower block in front of the Free Trade, destroying the view, and potentially forcing the beer gardens to close.

Then the financial crisis hit and the only good thing to come out of that was the fucking stupid plans being binned off. 

I’m sure when the objections are roundly ignored, the new development will compliment the fucking awful Whey-Eye.
