Home Group- a northeast based housing association- is to build its new head office in Strawberry Place. It promises to be a large glass building that is boiling in the summer, freezing in the winter, with not enough meeting rooms or parking spaces.

The multimillion-pound project is expected to be completed by 2022. 

It looks like it will surround the Strawberry Pub and normally you would expect a landlord to be less than happy. But for once, the local publican of The Strawberry believes it will be good news for his business with increased footfall from Home Group staff.

Having worked at Home Group, I imagine it will be a bumper few years for The Strawberry.
