Anyway, regardless of whether I’m a fan or not, the venue closed to make way for the Tyne Bridge restoration and has now reopened, run by HWKRLD under the moniker HWKRMKT.

I’m honestly not sure what their relationship is with ‘By the River.’ I don’t think it matters unless you’re one of those easily excitable Instagram influencer types who would squee over a Greggs opening in a filling station in the off chance of a free sausage roll.

Anyway, it’s open. I expect it will close suddenly at some point early in the new year.
