For those of a certain age, The Geordie Racer was a gritty educational programme about pigeons set in Newcastle.

For those of that certain age, The Geordie Racer Bar will be a gritty education for people who should be on a program.

The proposed bar was to be situated in the former KFC on the corner of the Bigg Market. It hoped to include the ground floor and basement with some lovely seating outside.

KFC was always one of my favourite places to go at kicking out time- the edge, the smell of fat, the forced humour that could turn nasty at any minute. Thankfully The Geordie Racer would have had the same ambience and more!

It was ganna be shite, man.
