A licence application has been made to turn part of a former Shieldfield car showroom into a bar.

The site, next to the Star and Shadow cinema facing the city Stadium, will also provide hot food to takeaway.

The interior of the building will have a mezzanine level, checky shirts and ‘worthy’ people doing ‘worthy’ things.

It will be interesting to see if it gets the go-ahead. Their new neighbours, the Star and Shadow, objected to the Little Rooms moving there because of concerns they would hurt their gig bookings.

An interesting fact about the Star and Shadow Cinema, I looked after their old website and Myspace page back in 06 when they had just moved into the place facing The Tanners, I revamped it for them and they didn’t like it, they instead opted for, well, what they have now, and I couldn’t face maintaining it.
