Relaunched cafe bar on site of failed cafe bars to close and rebrand.

It seems like only 18 months since the Purple Peacock (oh look it is ) opened to much fanfare after a costly refurbishment to make the venue ‘The most instagrammable night spot in Newcastle’.

Well, much to my surprise the venue- on a roundabout – has since closed and is due to go through another costly refurbishment.

Perhaps this rebrand will work, unlike the others. It’s been mentioned that they will incorporate the reproduction of the old arcade which once stood there, much like when the original bar opened on-site in the early 2000s.

I’m doubtful. The positioning of the pub, the lack of consistency in its offering, and the general absence of anything new or interesting mean it’s doomed.
