The Cochrane Park boozer has been on the market for a very long time. It finally changed hands in the middle of June.

Chatter amongst the locals indicated that big changes were planned that would have fundamentally changed and ruined it.

Thankfully, plans submitted by the Blackrose group show that a door is being added to the front and swapping out of the windows. Perhaps the biggest change is the swapping round of the bar and the lounge.

I’m a fan of Lochside. It might look a bit scary from the exterior, but it’s a welcoming dog-friendly estate pub. The beer offerings may not be real or crafty, but you get a good pint at a good price.
