It’s not all doom gloom for drinkers in Sunderlands Whitburn area. Although the Grey Horse is now a CO-OP, the relatively new Blues Micropub is going from strength to strength despite the current difficult trading conditions.

The pub which has quickly become a popular addition to the area has gained permission to extend its premises with the addition of a snug and a covered beer garden at the rear.

The bar crawl along the coast from Whitburn to St Peter’s, is not only a good work out, but has some solid pubs along a picturesque part of the world.
