Rather surprisingly, the SJF group have put Fitzgeralds on Green Terrace, Sunderland, up for sale.

Fitzgeralds has been consistently the best pub in Sunderland for the past 24 years, winner of CAMRA pub of the year and the notoriety of chucking out Beer And Real Ale Ben after he drank 4 pints of Old Tom and couldn’t stand up.

Not sure what’s going on at SJF, they recently (and suddenly) shut Cafe Royale and now Fitzys is up for sale.

Apparently, the company is in good health financially so it stinks of having outside consultants telling them to trim the fat, rationalise their cash flow and other such emptied head time and motion bollocks.

Let hope it doesn’t get ruined
