Either the Mountain Daisy is cursed or it’s a difficult place to make a concept stick

For those unfamiliar with Hylton Roads ‘Mountain Daisy’  it is a vast gorgeous-looking pub with loads of internal and external features that really are worth checking out.

However, if it is hamstrung by its location, a few hundred meters east and it would be within striking distance of other similar eye-catching pubs, unfortunately, Hylton Road still has that Royston Vasey feel that has cursed it since I was a student.

The new owners undeterred are trying something a little different and opening a bistro in the impressive upstairs area.

How will it take? I don’t know I hope it’s a success, the merry-go-round of owners/managers never bodes well for the future of a pub.
