The Market Tavern a.k.a the Monkey Bar on pilgrim street , has for a longtime been a throwback to an old style boozer (popular with civil servants) – the pub was bit an anachronism when contrasted with its neighbours. They have chucked a 100,000 quid at the refurb and it looks loads better
