I mean, what does the Tyne Bridge actually do? All it does is take up prime real estate along the prestigious Quayside and allow people from Gateshead to come over ‘ere and do their shopping.

Thankfully developers have finally decided to step up and do something about the eyesore. The bridges pillars which once housed the pedestrian lift to the road above- and more recently a bangin’ illegal rave- are to be turned into an event space and bar.

These plans have been floating around for ages, now they’ve been opened up for public consultation.

Let’s hope it’s another pub with ‘Bridge’ in the title.
