A local business owner has decided that he would like to open an upmarket boutique bar on Wallsend High Street. Chronicle readers have met the announcement with a fair level of scorn,  disbelief and some dribbling about Brexit

Wallsend has always been one of those places where I think a dodgy pub crawl would be good crack. A few weeks back we reported on the list of crimes committed in the local nightclub and it struck a chord with me because  I thought “You know what I want?”

“I want to be sexually assaulted while I drink a £2.50 pint of Fosters”. 

Anyway, the planning for the bar is in its early stages, but we will let you know how they get on.
