You’re not long into Owen’s Bar in Limavady before you feel why it was chosen as the 1988 Bushmills Bar of the Year for County Londonderry.


Maybe it’s the warmth of the blazing fire, or the warmth of the welcome given to all by the Owens family, father and two sons, who run the business, but whatever the reason 27 1613, operated the brewhouse at The Cutts in the previous year.


Today the Salmon Leap Inn displays the coat-of-arms of the city to mark this historic link.
